Member Benefits

MoALSO brings together county senior levy boards, advocates, and other stakeholders working in Missouri’s caregiving network.

Member Benefits

Advocacy & Legislative Tracking

MoALSO advocates for the high quality of care for Missouri’s older adults and the use of senior levy funds to support them. We engage a government affairs team to monitor executive and legislative action impacting older adults and senior levy funds so our members are prepared to advocate on their behalf. Members have access to a live bill tracking report that keeps real-time updates on issues impacting seniors, as well as access to bi-weekly calls with in-depth legislative updates and calls to action. Additionally, MoALSO supports its members in responding to fiscal impact requests on proposed legislation that would impact senior leviess.

Collaboration and Networking

MoALSO convenes county senior levy boards, advocates, and other stakeholders working in Missouri’s older adult community network. We provide members with platforms to develop partnerships across the industry and have discussions where we share news and information, ideas, and best practices.

Leveraging Funding Opportunities

MoALSO provides its members with the support, guidance, and resources needed to leverage funding opportunities for seniors. In addition to supporting our members as they develop and implement ballot initiatives for the pursuit of senior levies, MoALSO closely monitors the state’s budget and pursues grant opportunities to support our objectives.

Monthly Membership Meeting

MoALSO holds virtual monthly meetings for its members. These meetings provide an opportunity for our members to stay up to speed on issues impacting seniors at the statewide level, including legislative and regulatory updates, as well as updates from other members. Members may use this time to discuss strategy, program development, and organizational development.

Monthly Educational Sessions

MoALSO includes programmed educational sessions in our monthly meetings to provide continued education to members on key issues impacting older adults, as well as ways to strengthen their community support programs.

News and Resources

MoALSO members are kept informed of the latest news impacting seniors across the state of Missouri. Monthly member meetings and educational sessions are just a couple of the ways MoALSO members are kept apprised of major happenings and events.

“ After attending my first Senior Levy Board meeting in 2019, I believed that an Association could provide the organization, resources, and strong voice needed to better serve older adults in Missouri. The Executive Directors of Clay and Platte Counties, and the City of St. Louis met and MoALSO was formed in October 2020.“
